Harvest Muffin Day
Today was the start of a season that everypony loved, Harvest Season. Sure it wasn't a "true season" like Winter or Fall but it was loved all the same because not only did it mean great fresh fruit and vegetables from all over Equestria but the start of the stockpile for Winter. This was a very important season for Ponyville, so important that it surprised a certain bubbly pink pony that they never really had parties to celebrate the start off the season. She decided to take matters into her own hooves and made preparations, dashing back and forth as she set up little "traps" for all the harvest ponies for when they started making their rounds. Little poppers and streamer shooters that wouldn't harm them, but might give them a bit of a startle while still being festive.
She worked throughout the night, setting up banners ready to be unfurled when the time was right. She set up everything like it was a big surprise party for all of Ponyville with her as the only one who was in on the surprise for now. She did feel guilty at first, not letting her friends know but she thought it would be better for everypony if she didn't warn anypony. That didn't really last long though, as early in the morning just as she was finishing up she bumped into the mailmare who was wearing a saddlebag full of mail and confused look on her face as she looked at the pink pony's mysterious wares laying on the ground.
Pinkie explained everything to the grey furred, blonde maned pegasus who just giggled and nodded, promising not to tell anypony else. The pegasus started to take off for her rounds before Pinkie stopped her, giving her five letters for rush delivery, she made party invitations out of habit and decided to let a few ponies know, she couldn't not invite her best friends after all. They went their separate ways for the rest of the early morning, planning to meet up sometime during the day when they wouldn't be so busy, maybe at the party.
The morning sun came and Pinkie made her way to her room, tired from the long night of planning and setting up everything. She thought she could make it but she slumped over in her bed and drifted off to sleep, happily dreaming of the Harvest party that she had put together without anypony knowing anything.
Pinkie woke up sometime in the afternoon from the commotion outside, she sprung from her bed and made her way to the window to see what was going on. Everything looked like she had imagined it, but instead of the cupcakes she had planned for the party everywhere there were muffins of every kind from blueberry to oatmeal.
"Are these ponies crazy or what?" She thought to herself as she made her way downstairs to the bakery and found her blonde friend, this time her eyes looked kinda weird but she had a smile and a letter for Pinkie.
Pinkie took the letter from her friend and read it quietly, giggling as she realized what was going on. Apparently her mailmare friend had decided to make some changes to the party, not only because she loved muffins but because she thought they would go over better than cupcakes. Sure cupcakes are great once in a while but muffins were always really great, that and Pinkie forgot to make enough for all of Ponyville when she was setting up everything but had plenty of muffins to go around. Pinkie hugged the pegasus and thanked her for the help. She giggled at her mistake and smiled as she looked at everypony enjoying themselves outside.
"Next time you might want to ask for help when you make up a holiday."
"Yeah I know. You wanna help next time?"
"I'd love to."

Really couldn't think of a good title for this one, oh well. Hope it's alright at least.

I kinda rushed this one I'll be honest, but I don't think I did too bad. I'll be going through it myself as well to check and make sure it all flows as good as it did in my head.
This week's theme was writing about a seasonal holiday, couldn't think of a good one so I had Pinkie help me out with it and she came up with Cupcake Harvest Day. Then Ditzy popped in with her thoughts, and free chocolate chip muffins.

I do like the idea of Pinkie Pie making up her own holiday--I could see it as a future episode. What you have here is what I'd consider a good overview more than a story, however. Perhaps you see certain places that call out to be developed into fuller scenes? For instance, if Pinkie doesn't want to tell her friends about her plans for creating Harvest Day, dig into that problem. Stick them in her way and have her dodge around them, as if you were reversing the roles the mane cast played in Party of One.
Also, comma splices are not your friends. See your third paragraph.
I just joined this group a little while ago, so I haven't read many peoples' stories yet, especially their work from weeks past. But I did want to thank you for adding your fic to our collection and encourage you to keep writing! Cheers!
